Join us for the first ever Rogue Women backpacking trip July 11-12th at the Manistee River Trail. Spots are limited with 5 beginner (5 miles in, 5 miles out), and 5 intermediate spots (8 miles in, 8 miles out). We will be meeting at Seaton Creek Campground, which has parking available for $10.
The beginner and intermediate groups will begin the hike together, stopping together at the beginner’s camping spot for lunch/snacks before the intermediate hikers continue to their camping spot. In the morning, the intermediate group will hike back to the beginner group and all will hike out together.
Please plan to supply your own lightweight food. Assistance will be provided for hanging food, but it is helpful for others to bring paracord and hanging bags as leadership has limited supplies to share.
We will coordinate a group chat ahead of the trip as well so that everyone can coordinate who is carrying what and items that can be shared (e.g., stoves and pots/pans, water filtration supplies).
RWMI has 1 rental 2-person backpacking tent, 2 pairs of trekking poles, 2 medium Osprey packs, and 1 vintage external frame Jansport pack available to rent. Please indicate in the RSVP if rental gear is needed.
Cost: Registration is $10 per person; $10 parking per car; rental costs if needed ($5-$15 depending on gear needed).
